§  Review 2017 Shore Area NOW Activity (Where We Were) - Lynn

§  Dormant chapter to holding Monthly Chapter Meetings

§  Communiques (action emails, Twitter, Facebook, Website)

§  Committees - Three formed:

·       LGBTQ – active, bimonthly meetings

·       Repro – on hiatus, reactivating in Feb. 2018

·       Ending Violence - on hiatus, reactivating in 2018

§  Fundraising

·       Pride Fest raised $455.00

§  Treasury

·     Funding library fees, NOW rounds, Pride table, snacks and supplies

§  Membership Growth

·       Chapter membership grew from 54 members on 1/1/17 to 83 members on 12/1/17 (growth of 29)

·       At-large membership in Monmouth County grew from 131 on 1/1/17 to 202 on 12/1/17 (growth of 71)

§  Leadership

·       Added Mariel as Vice President and Jill as Secretary.

§  General Events

§  Clothing swap

§  Chapter trip - Alice Paul House or other historical women oriented place

§  Movies with some sort of feminist theme

§  Snippets for discussion from The View, Full Frontal, etc.

§  Plan 2018 Shore Area NOW Activity (Where We Are Going and How We Will Get There) - All

§  Monthly Chapter Meetings

·       Schedule & potential topics

§  January – Women in military (Sue Fulton)

§  February – Racism (possible speaker – Maya) *Mariel follow up*

§  March – Chapter trip (Alice Paul house) *Abbie follow up*

§  April – Trafficking & Soap activity *Abbie & Mariel follow up*

§  May – Poverty, homelessness & Clothing swap *Jill follow up*

§  Formats – video clip & discussion, team building activities, fun introductions of attendees

§  Communiqués and Media

·       Abbie's weekly, biweekly action alerts

·       Meeting Notes, Programs on Web

·       Facebook – advertising

·       Twitter - Aimee joins Twitter team, regular updates

·       Need to make concerted effort to leverage all of the above. Put programs on Facebook, Twitter, Website, Action Alerts, etc. Choreograph effort a tad more.

·       Expectations for Chapter Committees – define goals

§  Educate themselves and the larger group

§  Stay current on relevant legislation & similar groups

§  Pick and choose focus of activities

§  Increase Shore Area NOW's presence

·        2018 Plans for:

§  LGBTQ Rights Committee: continue legislative updates for larger group

§  Repro Rights Committee: bring out of dormancy - start in February 2018.

§  Ending Violence Against Women Committee: bring out of dormancy

§  Constitutional Equality Committee: assess starting at March Board Meeting

§  Economic Justice Committee: assess starting at March Board Meeting

§  Racial Equality Committee: assess beginning at March Board Meeting
